So, you have just started dolling. What a great activity! You have come through loads of sites, and you have found many
bases to work on, pallettes and tutorials. But I am sure you have realised that besides dolling itself, there is a big dolling
community. Dollers of all types, ages and countries are gathered at Internet cafes, known as forums.
There are plenty of forums out there. Big, small, crowded, famous, unfamous etc. A doller that is part of one, finds
support and advice in the face (or may I say avatar?) of other, experienced or not, dollers. One can post their work and get
some really useful comments on how to get better and improve. Forums are great because you can meet people who share the same
interest as you -dolling. Many talk through MSN, exchange gifts, do collabs, and become siblings.
Are you ready to join? Below we include some useful information on forums.
1. Find your forum!
Every doller has their main forum. This forum is where you feel more comfortable than others, have the most friends
or you know most people, and have fun! Of course you can test plenty of forums before find that one and at the same time be
member of many. So go out there and search for the link that will guide you to that one forum!
2. Find your dolling ID!
When you register a forum, you need a username. You have to select it carefully. Many dollers go by the same name
everywhere on Internet. In other words, this name can be your dolling ID. It could be your character's name, the combination
of many names, your favourite one or your real one! But above all, it must represent you.
3. Stick to the rules!
When you register a forum, you should follow its rules. In every single forum there is a section where all the rules
are kept in. Go there and start reading. Be sure you follow the rules, or otherwise the administrator can ban you -aka kick
you off the forum! Noone likes a member who does not pay attention on the rules. (See also the articles on general dolling
rules -Frankendolling,tracing etc- which should be followed be everyone.)
Follow these steps, and your entrance in the dolling community will pay you off! Be sure to be open to criticism, as it
will make you a better doller and artist.
